Sue made her television debut playing the ‘cello at the age of 10. Later she read music at Sheffield University, while continuing to take ‘cello lessons from Christopher Bunting in London. As a student she found time between her academic and playing commitments to sing the part of Dido in the University production of Dido and Anaeas. She carried out postgraduate studies at Oxford and at the Royal Northern College of Music, and since leaving University has concentrated on a career of teaching and playing the ‘cello professionally. Her playing and freelancing credits include the Northern Chamber Orchestra, Northern Ballet Theatre, Sadler’s Wells Ballet, Northern Sinfonia, East of England Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, Kirov Ballet, and the English Camerata, as well as going on tour with Dionne Warwick and Johnny Mathis. Her theatre and television work has included shows with Victoria Wood and Julie Walters, Paul Daniels, and Russ Abbot. She lived in Norfolk from 1998-2001, during which time she taught ‘cello first study at the University of East Anglia.  Sue founded the light music group Pink Champagne in 1989 and has been its player-manager since then. She moved to Cornwall in May 2001 and continues to play and teach in the South West.
