Mary Eade was one of the first students chosen for the internationally acclaimed Yehudi Menuhin School, where besides being taught the violin by Yehudi Menuhin and Frederick Grinke, she also attended Master Classes with Nadia Boulanger, Zoltan Kodaly, and Ravi Shankar. After advanced study in the Musikakademies of Detmold and Freiburg with Tibor Varga and Wolfgang Marschner, gaining Distinction in the Soloists Diploma, she returned to England and studied with Jose-Luis Garcia at the Royal College of Music before launching her debut recital at the Wigmore Hall. Since then she has given many recitals throughout the United Kingdom and Europe, and has appeared as a soloist with many orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the English Chamber Orchestra. She toured extensively with the Rogeri String Trio, and was a member of the English Chamber Orchestra for seventeen years. Other playing credits have included the London Festival Orchestra (co-leader), English National Opera (guest leader), the English Arts Orchestra (leader), the Tallis Chamber Orchestra (leader/director) and the Ten Tors Orchestra (co-leader). Television work has included concerts, recitals and Master Classes with the English Chamber Orchestra, the Rogeri String Trio and with Yehudi Menuhin. After moving to the west country she taught violin first study at Exeter University and has given many recitals and concertos, including an acclaimed performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with the Ten Tors orchestra in 2003. In 2007 she also performed the Bruch violin concerto in Devon.
