The Eade String Quartet was founded in 2002 by Mary Eade.
An inaugural concert in the Great Hall at Dartington featuring Schubert’s Death and the Maiden quartet was received with acclaim. Since then the quartet has performed twice at the Dart Music Festival, and has given concerts as part of Exeter University’s public concert series, and performed at the Peninsula Arts Contemporary Music Weekend in Plymouth in February 2005, as well as at other venues in Devon and Cornwall. The quartet’s varied repertoire ranges from the 18th to the 21st century, including works by Beethoven, Vaughan Williams & Debussy, and in 2005 they gave the world premiere of Patricio da Silva’s String Quartet in Plymouth.
